Friendly Reminder

Postby CR500guy » Wed Nov 25, 2009 1:28 pm

Good day all, just a friendly reminder about some of the rules at the track. On Sunday Nov 22/09 I was out doing some work at the track when I heard a quad, 5 kids (+-16) ridding on three quads came onto the track and were ridding around. 2 of the quads were doubling, 3 of the kids were not wearing helmets, and none of them were in proper riding gear for a track, all three quads were 4x4.
Some of our rules are:
- you must trailer your bike or quad to the track
- you must have full ridding gear
- you must have a membership or day pass
- no 4x4 quads
- no doubling
All of the rules are in place to protect riders, the rules are also a condition for the track to remain open, and if the rules are not followed we will be forced to close. I was able to stop one of the quads and have a conversation with the young man driving, I explained the rules and asked that they leave the track, the young man was very polite, rounded up his buddies, and then they all drove through the fence at the back of the track to get out. So now I have to fix the fence.
I believe that we have the lowest track fees and membership fees in Alberta, and we also have one of the nicest tracks in Alberta. We rely on the money for memberships and day passes to keep this track running, we can not keep our fees down if we continually need to repair or replace items that we have already used money to build or buy.
If you enjoy the track, please have a talk with your kids, buddies, everyone you know that enjoys ridding, encourage them to respect the rules at the track, also encourage them to practice safe ridding habits, you can never go wrong by wearing a helmet. If you don’t like our track, please don’t wreck it for the people that do enjoy it.
If you see any questionable behaviors at the track please call and let us know so that we may try and deal with it.
This track was built for the community to enjoy, we need the help and support of the community to keep it alive!

Ride often, and ride safe!
